Hy-Q International began in 1969 in Frankston, Australia as Hy-Q Electronics Pty. Ltd. by a group of crystal engineers. From the outset, we were determined to establish ourselves as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of frequency control products where excellence of product and customer service would be paramount considerations.

A manufacturing plant in Singapore, Hy-Q International (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., followed in 1972. Originally operating on the third floor of the O’Conners Building in Pasir Panjang, we later moved in 1978 into a new purpose built state of the art manufacturing facility.

Our U.K. operation was opened in 1977. Initially seen as a research and development resource for the expanding group, it soon became evident that its potential as a springboard to the European market would prove irresistible and Hy-Q International (UK) Limited soon became the central focus for the group’s European sales and marketing strategy.

Hy-Q’s international presence further expanded in 1989 into the fast growing North American market with the acquisition of a leading Cincinnati based crystal manufacturer in the United States. Hy-Q International (USA), Inc. was then relocated to Northern Kentucky, adjacent to the Greater Cincinnati International Airport with production taking place in a modern 25,000 square-foot plant, located on a five acre site.

One year later, in 1990, Hy-Q International (Mauritius) Limited was set up to manufacture AT cut quartz blanks for supply to the Hy-Q group and, through our sales offices, to the industry.

We have always been and remain a wholly Australian, privately owned company. Thanks to the vision and dedication of its co-founder, Peter E. Cooper, Hy-Q International grew from 25 employees in 1969 to employing over 400 personnel on five continents.

An ongoing strategy of Hy-Q has been to target developing markets by seeking new alliances. In consequence Hy-Q International has already aligned itself with major distributors ensuring that such relationships are of benefit to both companies.

Today Hy-Q International is supplying markets throughout the world including Australia, New Zealand, the Far East and the South Pacific.
